Most technology sold to businesses is designed to be difficult to leave. Accounts are held in the vendor's name, nothing is written down, and the cost of changing provider is high enough to keep clients who would rather go. Cox & Co Systems is built on the opposite arrangement.

Every domain, repository, and database is registered to the client from the first day. Every system is delivered with a written runbook covering what it is, how it runs, and how to operate it without us. Work is quoted at a fixed price against an agreed scope, and support is month to month, because a service worth keeping should not need a contract to hold onto it.

The measure of the work is whether a business is capable of more afterwards: fewer hours lost to manual handling, fewer enquiries missed, and a clear account of how its own systems function.
